Marine

The marine industry is generally faced with Class B risks – hydrocarbon fires.

In fact, marine vessels, marine tankers and FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) need to have marine fire suppression systems on board for safety and security.

This also refers to marine offshore industries and shipboard that have to obtain a fixed fire fighting foam system in case of flood and in order to extinguish engine room fire.

Within the industry requirements, the firefighting foam concentrates have to be approved by and fulfill the requirements of the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Having these requirements in mind, we at Kinetic Foam Engineering developed the K-Foam Marine that complies with the IMO, SOLAS/MED standard and it is approved by the official institutions.

Thanks to a specific formulation, our K-Foam Marine creates a floating film just so fire can be extinguished using a direct jet at a long distance from the burning fire on tugboats.

The K-Foam Marine is fluorine-free, eco-friendly foam that doesn’t cause any environmental issues, impacting the sea.

At the same time, it works effectively in putting out fire. The K-Foam Marine works well on any Class B hydrocarbon fires by using both a gentle or forceful application and slow drainage time.

We, at Kinetic Foam Engineering, provide the marine industry with a high quality foam, 100% biodegradable, in order to extinguish fire quickly with a high burn back resistance and a minimum environmental impact.

The K-Foam Marine concentrate can be mixed with fresh or sea water, and used in low, medium and high expansion.
