K-Foam Hydrocarbon outperforms new generation fluorinated fire foam products.

Our K-foam Hydrocarbon is fluorine-free foam for Class B fuel fires. This is an environmentally friendly solution which outperforms new generation AFFF fluorine containing products without the detrimental and toxic effects on human health or the environment Fluorine.

The K-foam Hydrocarbon is designed for quick fire knockdown due to its excellent mobility. It knocks down fires by the production of a dense polymeric blanket on the fuel surface, separating the fuel from oxygen. Due to its slow draining capability, it provides long term sealability and burnback resistance while sealing vapors and having a cooling effect due to a thick wet foam blanket.

Application

K-foam Hydrocarbon is used in fire suppression systems as well as manually to fight fires that involve hydrocarbon fuels such as crude oil, gasoline, and fuel oils.

The medium expansion foam can be used directly on hydrocarbon fires.

It effectively acts upon liquid fires as well including storage tank fuel and fuel spill.

The longer the water is in contact with the fuel, the more heat it is able to absorb.

The high viscosity of the eventual foam product provides increased protection.

The minimal run off which provides a cooling effect is ideal in cases of small class B fires.

The patent pending K-foam Hydrocarbon concentrate which sets a new standard for Class B firefighting has the following characteristics:

.Suitability to use with fresh or sea water.

.Applicable to long projection distances and heights.

.Durability on vertical surfaces such as aircraft and oil storage tanks.

.Viscosity similar to a quality 3×3 AFFF, compatible with standard proportioning and foam making devices, effectively a drop-in.

.Supports usage of standard nozzles and hand-lines for most applications.

.Its foamibility doesn’t depend on the type of water. The concentrate can be used with fresh, brackish, seawater, and cold water.

.In use for Class B fires, a dense foam blanket is created and there is an insulating barrier between the fuel and air. This is due to K-foam having a tailored, vapor-tight blanket that is capable of suppressing flammable vapors while minimizing the rise of reigniting. Combustible vapors are suppressed when cooling the fuel.

The K-foam Utility, provides a heightened level of safety, while extinguishing fires. It excludes ALL PFOS, PFOA and toxic PFAS chemicals from its content. These are very harmful for humans and the environment and are often illegal due to their environmental and health hazards. It is free from fluorine compounds and halogen derivatives.
